LUNAR PATH TO PERFORM ON COPENHAGEN LIVE 2010
We will return to the land of the true vikings to perform on the Copenhagen Live 2010 festival in Denmark. Other bands include Rammstein, Slash, Skunk Anansie, Volbeat, Bullet for my Valentine and many more.

DEBUT ALBUM RECORDINGS KICKED OFF TODAY!
We've proud to announce that we have started to record our debut album! As usual, we're beginning with drums. Today was the first day at the studio, setting up Pete's drums, micing and soundchecking them. Tomorrow we'll start to record!
We're all very excited about this new album. It will be more metal, volatile, personal and stronger than anything we've ever done before. There's a whole lot of new stuff that we've been experimenting with, both soundwise and musically. The band has been really exited about the new stuff and can't wait to get it out there to everybody!
We'll record 14 songs of which 12-13 will end up on the album and as usual, Jonas will record and produce. The tracklist consists solely on all new material! More info as the project progresses, so check back! We'll also try to keep a journal in our blog about the recordings!

NEW ADDITION TO THE FAMILY;
LUNAR PATH'S NEW BASS-PLAYER; JESSE MÄLÄSKÄ!
We were surprised how many applied when we started the search for a new bass player. Many good players applied, so the choice was hard.
But after after careful consideration, Jesse Mäläskä stood out among all others, fitting our description perfectly! He sealed the deal in yesterdays jam/rehersals, so we're proud to announce Jesse as Lunar Path's new bass player!
Jesse has played bass for almost a decade in various heavy metal bands, for example Fatal Sound Project and is currently studying a degree in bass pedagogue.
He's a very talented and motivated guy, so were all eager to see what change this new sound will bring to our new songs!

LUNAR PATH BLOGGING FROM THE ROAD!
We've opened up a blog, entitled "The Dark Side of the Moon". With this blog you'll get a "behind the scenes" peek at what's happening in camp Lunar Path on tour, in studio etc.
As we're heading on a nearly two week tour with Paul Di'Anno starting thursday, this tour will be the "maiden voyage" for the blog! So be sure to check back from time to time as we'll try to fill it up with stories, pictures and other shenanigans!

Lunar Path will perform an acoustic version of "Paper Dove" on YLE FST "Min Morgon" tv-show tomorrow morning (9th of March). The program starts at 6.50 am and will be aired as a LIVE broadcast untill 8.30 am.

LUNAR PATH LOOKING FOR BASS PLAYER!
The bands walk with bass player Ari Järvinen has come to an end. The desicion was made in full understanding by both parts, with no drama involved. Ari who has been the best friend the band members could ask for, will remain as one in the future as well. We wish him all the best for whatever the future may hold for him.

BENEFIT CONCERT WAS A SUCCESS!
The benefit concert went wery well, way over our expectations considering the short deadline. Attendance was very good with over 200 people! A big thank you to everybody who helped out and sponsored the evening;

LUNAR PATH THROWS BENEFIT CONCERT FOR THEIR BAND NEIGHBOURS
We're hosting a benefit concert THIS FRIDAY for the victims of the last weeks arsony. We survived with only Jonas braking his leg pretty bad, but others weren't so lucky, and there were plenty of material damage. (Btw, he girl who committed the arsony has been taken in by the police and she has confessed.)
All the proceeds will go to get started on rebuilding and replacing the instruments that's been damaged in our neighbour pracitse flats. We've got the costs to a minimun with sponsors (Amarillo/BeBop, Vekkulisointi, TT-Urex), bringing our own stuff as backline, borrowing PA equipment and asking friends to participate.
We're hoping to gather enough money with ticket sales to get these kids started with rebuilding their gear and repairing the damage.
And just as a reminder, Lunar Path didn't suffer any material damage, so we're not getting any money from this! This benefit is for the kids/our neighbour-bands who got their equipment damaged, possibly destroyed!
The evening will be split in two shows, one from 18:00-20:00, with no age restrictions, and later, 22:00-??:?? for 18 and over. The program schedule is as following:

LUNAR PATH REHERSAL INTERRUPTED BY ARSON
Yesterdays band practice was interrupted in a very unreal way when a dangerous fire broke out in the rehersal complexs' bottom floor. Lunar Path and two other bands were rehearsing on the second floor. The two other bands got out early enough, but we didn't notice the smoke until it was too late. By the time we realized that there was an actual fire, it was too late to escape through the hallway as it was already filled with lethal amounts of black smoke.
We sealed off our door to prevent the smoke from reaching our flat. As a last resort, when a fear of a gas leak arose, we took off the windows, threw every matress we could find on the ground belowe and one by one leaped out through the windows. The fall was measured by the police as four meter and ten centimeters.
Everybody exept Jonas survived the jump with minimal injuries (some bruising etc.). Jonas had already twisted his leg after falling in a staircase last thrusday morning, so jumping from that far with a bum leg meaned that a leg trauma was almost unavoidable. He had to jump knowing this, so it was a hard call. Jonas is now treated for his leg trauma in a hospital in Töölö, Helsinki.
The fire was deemed as arson by the police and a young girl has been arrested for the crime.
We don't want to jump to conlusions too early, but it is unknown to us wether or not we have a practice flat anymore, as the rehersal complex is in need of some costly repairs. We successfully sealed our flat from the inside before the jump, so our gear and rehersal place didn't suffer any damage.The hallway suffered some damage, as lamps and paint melted and the walls got significant smoke damage. And the best news of all, no fatalities.
We were scheduled to start recording drums for our debut full lenght in february, but as of now we'll have to wait and see what happens next. This incident does not affect the upcoming tours, as our brains and hands are still working, and Jonas will perform with a plaster-cast if needed.

There's a whole lot of cool gigs coming up and confirmed a batch more today. We're proud to announce we're going to support ex-Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di'Anno's (UK) solo tour in Finland on the 17. through 20. of March.
Paul Di'Anno was the vocalist in the legendary heavy metal band Iron Maiden during 1978-1981 and performed lead vocals on their classic first self-titled album and "Killers"-album.

"FEMME METAL" NIGHT IN HELSINKI 5 DECEMBER!
On the 5 of December, three great female-fronted heavy metal bands, Lunar Path, Amberian Dawn and Tacere will hit the stage at the Dante's Highlights! That's where the party is so be sure you'll be there!

SAUNA OPEN AIR - HEAVY METAL CRUISE!
Lunar Path will appear on Heavy Metal Tampere's Sauna Open Air boat trip! On the 6 of June, together with Dreamtale, we'll sail the salty seas in-between and keep the party on the Sauna Open Air festival going! The boat is leaving from Laukontorin satama, Tampere at 12:00, and arrive at the festival area after about 3 hours of rock n roll and sunshine!
So, scallywags and mateys, stop yer landlubbering squiffying! Grab a grog and get yourself loaded to the gunwales and go on the account with us! Yarr!
On another note, there's been a slight change in the program for our Turenki gig! Morrow couldn't come because of their sudden lineup-changes, but My Reflection will instead rock the house with us!

A preview (one song) of the new EP will be played on the Finnish radio program Metallrepubliken on the Yle X3M channel on Monday. The show starts at 21:00 so stay tuned!
The EP is currently being mastered and we're waiting for the final CD to arrive from the mastering plant!
We also got this years first gig booked, 15.5. in Turenki, the original hometown of our drummer!

We've been very busy, working hard at our new EP, so hard that we've almost forgot to update the site on what we're doing :P. The recordings have been finished off some time ago, and I've also layed down the groundwork a couple of weeks ago. I've been mixing it now for about a week, and we're starting to get close to the final mix.
The EP will contain four new songs, "Broken World" (the title single), "Paper Dove", "Too Late To Say Goodbye" and "Now I Know". We'll also try to squeeze in some bonus tracks.
The goal is to have it sent for mastering and get the covers ready within a couple of weeks or so.

We are currently working with a new material for our upcoming demo single which includes 3 tracks. The demo is expected to be ready in the beginning of the next year. Unfortunately no new gigs are to be actively booked for this year anymore, since most of our time is now devoted to the demo.

The image-gallery is finally done! Now you can browse over 200 photos of Lunar Path from gigs, music videos, etc. You can find the gallery through "Media" and then "Pictures".
On another note, big thank you to the person who requested our "Tell Me" music-video yesterday (30. August 2007) in YLE Extra's Musiikki-TV program.
The "Destination Unknown" has been shot and is currently being edited, and it will be released in about a month.

Lunar Path has been shooting a new video for the song "Destination Unknown"! The video was filmed in Kouvola City Theatre on the big stage, at June 10th. We will continue the shooting-sessions in the late July.

The Demo is finally READY and now for sale in Riverside records, and/or by contacting us!
The prize is 6 euros.
There are also a couple of T-shirts left (black shirt with the Lunar Path logo at the front) for sale, they cost 10 euros each. Unfortunaly the only size is XL.

Lunar Path will be interviewed at Pommi Radio the 21 of April, the time is yet to be set.

Lunar Path shot a music video last saturday with director Nadi Hammouda, cameraman and editor Mikko Savolainen and Kari Ojanen, and assistant Pirkko Vetri.
The video is expected to be ready and released on this website after about a month.
Uusimaa and Borgåbladet did a story about this.

Our demo is now in print, so it should be ready to ship in a couple of weeks!
