LUNAR PATH
La nueva promesa del metal fines

Welcome! Thank you very much for this interwiev.

Hi! Thank you!

When Lunar Path get started? what's the current line-up?

We started out in late 2006 when Tuukka and I (Jonas) decided to form
a band to get to perform live, because our earlier bands and projects
were all in one way or another chained to the studio, and we were
getting tired of it.

We asked some close friends to join our group, and soon enough the
first practice sessions started and Lunar Path was born. The first
real kick-off to the band was when we won our local battle of the
bands competition with the band only two months old. The only change
in our lineup has been the departure of our original drummer Klas.
Pete joined the group in June of 2008.

How many albums are recorded?

We have recorded two self-financed demos and are working on a third
EP, first one that features our new drummer Pete.

What are your musical influences?

We have a quite diverse taste in music. Tuukka is into power metal and
german metal, I (Jonas) like everything that sounds good, basically
anything between pop and black metal, Ari is an old school death metal
fan, Obituary and Cannibal Corpse, and Janica is more into modern
mainstream metal.

For all those who have not heard Lunar Path yet. How would you describe your music?

Beauty and the beast. Powerful and heavy, but still sensitive and
beautiful. Melodic.

Talk me about finnish metal. What are your favourite bands?

The Finnish metal and/or rock scene is growing every year, with a lot
of great Finnish bands taking over stages and charts all over the
world. In a nutshell, the Finnish metal scene have never been better,
and is growing better every year. My personal favorites are definately
Leverage, Velcra, CMX and Brother Firetribe.

What are the plans for next year?

More gigs, bigger gigs, maybe a summer festival? We'd love to play
abroad! We've also got 2 cd;s worth of unreleased material, so
hopefully we'll have the time to start preproduction for an album or
something.

Final message to our readers.

Keep supporting independent metal and your local metal/rock scene!
